The areas abound with African game, and it is not unusual to see an elephant wandering past your tent at any time, day or night. During a day’s fishing you will never be out of sight of game on both banks of the Zambezi as much of the time it runs between the National parks of Zambia and Zimbabwe.
The Zambezi has a wealth of Tiger fish that run from 5lbs, and can exceed 20lbs, as well as other species which include the elusive giant catfish (or giant Vundu) which can run well over 100lbs. Most people fish for the “Tigers”, an aggressive and exciting fish to catch, and as fighters they spend much of the time out of the water displaying their ability to “throw the hook”! All fish caught are returned to the water.
Prices vary from camp to camp depending on the level of comfort required and the time of year. A week on the Zambezi to include virtually everything, will start from approx US$2,975.00 (approx £1730 per person)
